My intention is to race in the TCR UK Championship in 2020 and build on our results from 2019.
Last year ended with some excellent results which has renewed the enthusiasm for racing that has been with me since the age of 4, when I accompanied my Father to race tracks and followed the drivers in cars that he had built.
I first got the opportunity to race at the age of 12 in Go-Karts, but I couldn’t race regularly through lack of funds but those few races where enough to give me a burning desire to be a racing driver.
At 16 I was working as an apprentice for VW and put all my earnings into racing in the VW Championship, taking the wheel of a VW Vento which was a spare car in my Father’s Racing team.
Since then, I have either been racing I cars that I have built or earning the money to race by building and maintaining cars for other people.
The highlights so far as a driver, have been winning back to back 2013/14 in the Alfa Romeo championships, in a car that I had built and more recently in 2019, getting the TCR Astra on pole position in the season final.
I’m also very proud of being No 1 mechanic on Jack Goff’s Vauxhall Insignia in the British Touring Car Championship.
Racing in the TCR Championship was a huge step forward for our small family team as the cars are very sophisticated technically and the drivers are some of the best in the business. However, I believe with the help of V Max & Lubner Motorsport, who are the technical partners for Opel in TCR, we are in a very strong position for the 2020 season.
